The organisation aims to achieve the following objectives through building strong strategic partnerships and the consolidation of existing efforts;

Resource Mobilisation: ​encompasses fundraising amongst other forms of new business development initiatives for long-term financial sustainability & growth of the entity.

Local Economic Development (LED): ​to leverage economic development skills and supplier development programmes provided by government institutions.  

Education: ​the key focus is on infrastructure development, the establishment of an agricultural school and support for improved educational initiatives.

Economic Infrastructure: ​​focus on road works, Moruleng stadium & BBKTA Head Office renovations, sewer system maintenance, and dam reconstructions.

Health: f​ocus on strategic partnerships with the government and upgrades of clinics. 

Agriculture: ​focus on livestock and crop production.

Sports and Culture: ​focus on the development of sports, arts and culture and social cohesion of Morafe (community).

Organizational Effectiveness: ​maintain good corporate governance and management of organisational effectiveness.

Sports is used as a catalyst for social cohesion and the development of sports as a whole within communities.

Two annual sports tournaments take place at the Moruleng Stadium, where all 32 villages are represented in the tournament.

We seek to uncover local talent and encourage our youth to pursue sports as a profession.

2023 Projects

• Mabele-a-podi Skills Centre - Construction of Park Home Classrooms

BBKDW in partnership with Pilanesberg Platinum Mine (PPM), built park home classrooms in the village of Mabele a podi, this allowed the centre to operate effectively and efficiently with no restrictions relating to space.

• Modimong Primary School Billboard

BBKDW sponsored the school with a billboard which addressed the issue of visibility within the community.

• Silala la – 2023 Matric Readiness Programme

‘Silala la’ is a programme that helps matriculants prepare for their final exams, by housing them at their respective schools for a specified period, allowing them to focus only on their studies and not what would be considered as distractive elements at home. This is an initiative supported by the learners, teachers and parents at home. BBKDW identified various schools within the community, that needed support during this period. The support varied from; food supplies, sanitation supplies, water supply and mattress donations. 

• Annual Local SMMEs Business Expo

BBKDW invited local SMMEs to exhibit their services to the community and hosted a session, partnering with various business funders and investors, where local business owners have access to more information that is relevant to growing their businesses.

• Mammitlwa Food and Music Festival

The festival is one of the initiatives BBKDW under the leadership of the BBKTC identified as an opportunity to grow tourism in the area and open the local economy to a broader market. The intention is to annually host this event, aiming to grow its audience gradually (nationally and internationally).

• ​Food Handling and Safety workshop

BBKDW hosts a workshop for local catering businesses, during the workshop business owners and their employees are taught basic food safety and hygiene practices, processes, systems and standards within a food environment to ensure compliance.

•​ Statutory Compliance Workshop

BBKDW hosted a workshop for local SMME’s, which focussed on compliance requirements that are pre-defined by the government, which all companies must function in South Africa.
